VOTE FOR US - The Greatest Awards

Voting for The Greatest Awards 2008, starts on May 1st and runs through until the end of June.   

The only people who will decide who are The Greatest Garden Centre Teams;  The Greatest Plant Sales Teams and The Greatest Catering Teams, are you, our garden centre customers.

There are 3 ways in which you can vote:

1. On-line at www.thegreatestawards.co.uk, just click on the ‘customer vote’ tab that appears on the left hand side of the screen

2. By text where you text the word PLANT along with our GARDEN CENTRE NAME (Trelawney Garden Centre) to 87023 - Text votes cost 50p plus your normal network charges of which at least 23p goes to The Greenfingers Appeal.

3. By the postcards available around our store at the till points, if you cannot see any please ask our receptionist to give you a voting card.

SUMMER GARDEN PARTY
21st & 22nd June 2008

Come along and have some fun at Trelawney’s Garden Party Weekend which is taking place on the 21st & 22nd of June.  We will have some fantastic offers around the store as well as entertainment for all ages.  So why not bring the whole family for a weekend of great fun here at Trelawney.  We will have Morris Dancer here on both Saturday and Sunday and Wadebridge School Steel band will be here on Sunday.  Make sure you put the date into your diary 21st & 22nd June….

THE POPULAR TRELAWNEY BREAKFAST HAS A NEW ADDITION - A HEALTHY OPTION NOW AVAILABLE!

Carriages restaurant at Trelawney Garden Centre Wadebridge is now offering our customers a healthy option at breakfast time.  We have cereal, fresh fruit, fresh juices and delicious yoghurts to choose from if you fancy something a little healthier than the full Trelawney cooked breakfast.  We still have the cooked breakfast on the menu so if you like your fry-up’s you will not be disappointed.  Come and treat the whole family to a Trelawney breakfast, now there really is something for everyone!

FREE PSA BLOOD TESTS - Raising prostrate cancer awareness!

In association with The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust Charity REG NO 1109385.  To all Men around 45 - 75 we will be holding a talk and free blood tests for all to check for signs of prostrate cancer.  The event is being held in our restaurant, Carriages, and is taking place on THURSDAY 15th MAY.  As well as the free test there will also be a talk by Dr David Baxter-Smith who is a Consultant Urologist, now would be a great time to get any questions answered without having to go to your local GP.  The evening lasts from 7.00p.m. - 9.00p.m. and the talk will start at 7.15p.m.  If you need anymore information please contact 07831 156071/2 or email gfcharitabletrust@tiscali.co.uk.

BRAND NEW CAR VALETING SERVICE AT TRELAWNEY @ WADEBRIDGE

Trelawney have taken over the car valeting at their site at Wadebridge.  It is now owned and totally controlled by Trelawney and we have professional, friendly car valeting attendants ready to make your car look its best.

You will notice a few changes to the area where it is based in the car park at Trelawney.  The corner was looking very tired with the area needing a serious makeover.  This corner area has now been taken out to allow more space for vehicles and we have also put in sufficient drainage in the area to help get excess water away as quickly as possible.  With a car port being added in the very near future this will allow the valeters to work in all weathers so that even if you just want the inside of your car valeted we will be able to provide the service without the inside of your car getting wet from the rain.

Plants for Schools
15th March - 15th May

We know that you enjoy your garden and the benefits it brings to the environment, yet many schools budgets cannot stretch to being able to improve their own gardens and encourage their pupils to take an interest in their surroundings.

So, we at Trelawney would like to help.  We will donate 25p for every £10.00 that you spend with us using your loyalty card between March 15th and May 15th to any local school or nursery of your choice.  The can then spend the funds on whatever they want at Trelawney to brighten up their gardens and school or even launch a school gardening club.

CHARITIES OF 2008

This year Trelawney @ Wadebridge have decided on their two nominated charities of the year,  All money from fundraising efforts in 2008 will be divided equally between these two charities and cheques presented at the end of the year.
Our chosen charities are,  The Merlin Appeal and Sunrise Appeal
Both worthwhile causes I am sure you will all agree.  We hope that whatever we can raise for them this year will be beneficial to them in the future.

Trelawney @ Wadebridge have won the prestigious Garden Centre of Excellence award from the GCA.  The GCA is a governing body which regulates the quality of garden centres.  The GCA has very high standards which Trelawney met in order to obtain this award.

Trelawney also won for the 5th year running the award of Best Garden Centre in the Wales and West Region, beating off competition form several other garden centres around the region.

We at Trelawney are extremely proud and honoured to receive the award and thank our staff who worked extremely hard to enable us to win these awards yet again.

LAKESIDE CONSERVATORY READY FOR BOOKINGS!

Our New Lakeside Conservatory area. This suite is available for private bookings, whether you just want to hire a room for a meeting or you want us to provide light snacks or a full meal for a special event or party. The room can be divided so that it is right for a small group of up to 30 people or in its full size catering for up to 60.

A projector, screen, notepads, pencils etc. can all be provided at reasonable rates.

The Lakeside Conservatory and Restaurant was recently hired out to Truro College in order for them to hold an open evening for local students who were thinking of going on to further education.  It was a great success and over 70 local students came to the event where a presentation was held in the Conservatory for the students and afterwards tea and coffee was served in the restaurant and students could ask questions to the lecturers.
